Job Description

A specialist IT hardware provider in Somerset are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help spearhead their next growth phase.
The Role
The company specialise in providing IT solutions for the education sector, so the main purpose for this role is to win new business across a specific geographic patch within the South West.
Although some appointments will be set by a lead generation team, there will be an element of proactivity required in sourcing new business opportunities through various means. And while this is predominantly a business development role, there may be some requirement to provide ongoing account management for clients.
There may be a need to visit the company offices, but the role is essentially field-based and so there will be complete autonomy with managing workloads. 
The Ideal Candidate
As this role is operating in the education industry and requires an immediate impact, it's imperative that candidates have prior business development experience in the sector. 
It's important to note that a consultative approach is required for this role, as the core focus is bringing on long-term clients rather than quick wins. A good understanding of tech is therefore a necessity, and the ability to quickly identify opportunities will be advantageous.
On top of that, we're looking for all the crucial attributes required to be successful in a sales-based role: self-motivation, passion and persistency to name but a few. 
The Package
In order to ensure that you can hit the ground running, the company will provide a laptop, smartphone and a stylish executive car. 
The basic salary is up to £30,000 and will be determined on experience. It's coupled with a generous commission structure that offers ongoing bonuses based on client renewals.
Finally, you'll have the opportunity to sell services and products with clear USPs that are unrivalled in the marketplace, and that a sales person can truly buy in to.
